In a bleak dystopian future, a gang of rollerskating orphans who play a rough game called Skateball (a fusion of roller derby and lacrosse) break free from their fascist overlords and venture out into the post-apocalyptic wasteland, seeking a glowing alien sphere that miraculously sparked a rainstorm and restored the hearing of the youngest member of their ranks (Haas); they’d better hurry up or else a mincing, Schutzstaffel-esque commandant (Jordan) and his big robot might drill into it first! And they say that Hollywood has run out of good ideas…
