Godsend (2004)

A geneticist (De Niro) approaches Kinnear and Romijn, parents mourning the loss of their only son, and tells them that he can use the dead child’s cells to clone him. Everything (inexplicably) goes right for the first eight years or so, but then “Adam Two” (even more inexplicably) begins having dark visions and behaving in a strange, sinister fashion. Is it a thoughtful examination of grief and morality, or is it a really stupid horror movie with overwrought “jolts” and a laughable mad-scientist twist? Anyone who guesses the former might be gullible enough to go along for the poorly-paced ride. This one should’ve been left in the grave.
