The 30 Foot Bride of Candy Rock (1959)

Directed by Sidney Miller. Starring Lou Costello, Dorothy Provine, Gale Gordon, Lenny Kent, Jimmy Conlin, Charles Lane, Ruth Perrott.

Lou Costello’s first and only lead acting film role without Bud Abbott by his side; he would sadly pass away a few months before the film’s release. His day job is collecting garbage, but his passion is inventions, to the point where he keeps turning down the marital-minded advances of a horny girlfriend (Provine) half his age. Out in the desert, she wanders into an irradiated crevasse and emerges thirty feet tall, leading to lots of lazy antics and sight gags (that dog has a cracked egg on its head, ho ho!). Little kids may be amused by the mindless mayhem of its final reel, but even at just seventy-minutes-and-change, this thing is a real chore to sit through—good luck staying awake.
