A car dealership in Temecula is struggling to stay afloat, so the owner hires a “mercenary” team led by Don “The Goods” Ready (Piven) to come in over the long Fourth of July weekend to show the sales team how its done and move some cars. Raucous comedy is very vulgar, very politically-incorrect, and very spotty; while it’s tempting to criticize it for being one-note, it’s the one-note supporting characters who tend to have the best hit-to-miss ratios (the first few appearances from a stubborn DJ played by Craig Robinson and a volatile, bigoted salesman played by Charles Napier offer up some of the biggest laughs). Unfortunately, the whole thing runs out of gas around the hour mark, and it starts to become as disappointing as a no-show from Bo Bice…’s brother, Eric Bice. First (and, to date, only) feature film directed by “Chappelle’s Show” co-creator, Neal Brennan. Will Ferrell, who also co-produced, went unbilled for his handful of walk-ons.
