Wedding Daze (2006)

Directed by Michael Ian Black. Starring Jason Biggs, Isla Fisher, Michael Weston, Edward Herrmann, Margo Martindale, Joanna Gleason, Joe Pantoliano, Chris Diamantopoulos, Matt Malloy, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Heather Goldenhersh, Audra Blaser. [R]

A year after the girl he proposed to dropped dead of a heart attack on the spot, Biggs feels pressured to give love another shot and asks a total stranger (Fisher) to marry him…who, to his complete astonishment, accepts. Spotty romantic comedy is mostly dead weight, though there are a few isolated moments of surrealist humor bordering on anti-comedy (including Biggs’ voraciously aroused parents, played by Herrmann and Martindale as an otherwise archetypal old married couple). Fisher is adorable and Biggs plays pretty much the same character he always plays, but there’s almost no chemistry between them, and no sense of momentum pushing them toward the altar. A real disappointment for writer/director Michael Ian Black. Also known as The Pleasure of Your Company.
